BIOGRAPHY OF ALEKSI VIRTA

When were you born and where?   5.11.1986 in Vantaa

Story?   9 or 10 years old. Probably that gave me the interest to start playing keyboards in a bandschool called Rocktown (doesn`t exist anymore..). I played there for 1,5 years. Then I went into another bandschool, but I didn`t learn there anything and so I left. Since then, my teacher has been a great jazz-pianist called Markus Niittynen. These days I play mostly metal and jazz, or maybe a kind of a weird fusion of them...

What instrument do you play and how long have played it? I have played synthesizers and jazz-piano for almost five years 
 

Which musicians do you respect?   Markus Niittynen, Janne Warman, Chick Corea, Alexi Laiho, Jordan Rudess and many many others..

Which are your favourite bands? Finntroll, Norther, Children of Bodom, Dimmu Borgir, Chick Corea`s bands, Dream Theater, Diablo, Ensiferum for example

Equiment you use?   Keyboards

Have you other things to do, except the band/music?   School, hanging out with my friends and my dear girlfriend.. .

Best Gig Ever Seen? Finntroll at Nosturi/2002

What would be the "dream-team" band for you?   I would play keyboards, Mike Portnoy on the drums, on the guitars Alexi Laiho and John Petrucci and Henkka T. Blacksmith on the bass and no vocalist included.
