Biography
When were you born and where? 2.4.1984 in Helsinki
Story? I started playing piano in the age of 8. I played the usual kids-stuff and some blues, but after 2 years playing I changed my pianoteacher to a better one. Taught by V. Watanen, I learned all of my skills. He taught me blues, jazz, latino, classical, free music etc. I´m very thankful of his patience, wisdom and "technical-taughts". I hope we have a lot more years to come. I´m very thankful. Year 1994 I bought Megadeath´s Youthanasia-album and started to have that kind of inspirations. After Megadeath I listened mainly to Metallica and Stratovarius. Stratovarius is the reason why I started playing guitar (year 1997). I played fast and melodic piano solos along their songs, but the sound of guitar has always thrilled me. I trained a lot both instruments, but in a year or two the guitar took the place no.1. In that time I also started to listen to Children Of Bodom and found something new. Alexi Laiho gave me new influences, so I had to train his and Janne´s solos, with piano and guitar. Nowadays I´m mainly inspired by CoB, Nightwish, Sinergy and some film-music. I also take guitar lessons from Harri Kentala in Sibelius Akatemia
What instrument do you play and how long have played it? I have played piano since 1992 and guitar since 1997.
Which musicians do you respect? For example: Alexi Laiho, Marzi Nyman, Vesa Watanen, Janne Wirman, Tommi Markkanen, Jori Tikkala, Harri Kentala, Heikki Pöyhiä
Which are your favourite bands? Children of Bodom, Warmen, Sinergy, Nightwish
Equiment you use? Guitar and microphone
Have you other things to do, except the band/music? Yes. I train Tae Kwon Do and of course I go to school, which is quite important to me. So sometimes I´m very short on time.
Best Gig Ever Seen? Children Of Bodom/Finntroll TUSKA 2000
What would be the "dream-team" band for you? Ammm... I guess I would be the vocalist and guitarist. In bass would be Valtteri Myllymaa. The other guitarist would be Alexi Laiho. And third guitarist Mikko Kaija. In drums would be Aarne Riikonen or Mr. Laitinen and in keyboards Vesa Watanen eller Jens Johansson. But our band is like a dream-team to me, because I can work with great musicians and good friends.
