Biography

Sami has been playing keyboards since he was 5 years. First, he was just a "family-entertainer" and it was not until 13 when he had his first real band. It was just studying playing together and no own songs were written. And the musical style of the band was not so satisfying. But as Sami comes from a small village there wasn't other choices.

Then, suddenly, Sami got to know one band that totally changed his life, Dream Theater. As he didn't have a band at this time he started to play with Images and Words. It was about three years playing with Dream Theater until second band came true. It was the first touch to making own music.

New home, new things

Then, a year later, Sami moved to Jyväskylä and started to look for a local band. He had pretty many choices and got requests from Helsinki to Kuopio and from everywhere in the stretch. During the Jyväskylä years Sami found his way into bands like Clarity, Bronze Doré, Zeel (formerly known as Morian). Happonen also played in that band and asked Sami to join in Airut, too.

Moving to Helsinki

The last move was to move to Helsinki, where Simolin and Äijänen also live. Now organising rehearsals is easier (not with the whole band, though).
