Biography
Janne Aaltonen was born in Riihimäki on September 7th, 1974. He started playing drums when he was 12 years old and lived in Ryttylä. In 1987 Aaltonen started going to upper level comprehensive school in Oitti and next year he joined Aggressive Influence. Aggressive Influence started doing gigs in 1989.
Most of the shows were played in Riihimäki. Also Lahtinen was playing in the band. After a while new projects were founded and Aaltonen was playing in bands called Dysfunction, Acid Sperm and Fairlane.
Aaltonen met other WSM members already when doing the first gigs in Riihimäki. Most of the 90's Aaltonen was playing drums in Fairlane until in 1997 he moved to Helsinki. Five years later he moved back to Riihimäki and WSM was put together in 2003. Aaltonen has been a huge fan of Metallica since the Master of Puppets.
Other favorite bands have been Pantera, Depeche Mode, Voivod, Faith No More, Megadeth, Lostprophets, Roxette, Bon Jovi and Paradise Lost.
Janne Aaltonen is an original member of Widescreen Mode.
