Biography
Janne Lahtinen was born in Hämeenlinna on October 17th, 1973. Lahtinen started playing guitar as a young teenager when he was living in Oitti.
The first bands he joined also there and one of them was a Thrash Metal band called Aggressive Influence. Aggressive Influence was the way to the metal scene of Riihimäki where Lahtinen played in many thrash and speed metal bands. Aggressive Influence played its first live shows in 1989.
Lahtinen was also playing in groups such as Diamonds, Paralysis, and Fairlane. Riihimäki had a fairly small but active metal scene in early 90's and there Lahtinen met also other WSM members. Fairlane was founded in 1992 and that was the first time when all the WSM members played in the same band.
Lahtinen's favorite bands have been metal monsters like Metallica, W.A.S.P. and Accept. He has been also listening to groups like Black Label Society, Pantera, HIM, Rasmus and Paradise Lost. Favorite guitarists are Zakk Wylde and Dimebag Darrell.
