Biography

Veli Antti "Hyrde" Hyyrynen was born in Lemi, Finland. He is a Finnish rockmusician and a musicvideo-director. He is best known as the founding member and guitarist-vocalist of the band Stam1na. Hyyrynen writes all the lyrics for Stam1na and also composes the songs along with sologuitarist Pekka Olkkonen. In the original line-up of Stam1na, Hyyrynen played the drums and in their debut album "Stam1na" he played the bass. Hyyrynen has also sung in Max- and Royal Max 2 bands which come from Lappeenranta, Finland.

Hyyrynen graduated as "Medianomi (AMK)" from Kymenlaakso ammattikorkeakoulu. Alongside with Stam1na he also works as a director, scriptwriter, film editor and a composer in an AV-company Medialouhos. Hyyrynen has directed and written for instance the videos "Kummitusjuna" and "Iankaikkinen" by Kotiteollisuus. The latter was chosen as the best musicvideo of 2006 in finnish rockmagazine Rumba.

Hyyrynen plays seven-string ESP LTD SC-607B and Custom Shop EX baritoneguitars. His older brother Jussi Hyyrynen plays guitar in a finnish band YUP.
