Biography

I joined Pressure Points very soon after I got to know Kartsa. He came once to play with me and my friend Antti and asked me if I was interested in playing second guitar in his band. After I had listened to their material (and a few beers later) I decided to join in. We started to rehearse the songs and it really took a lot of time, because these songs are very hard to play. And new material just keeps on coming, so the work never ends.

Personal history

I started to listen to music when I was in the 7th grade. A friend of mine brought The Offspring's Smash -album to school and I was stunned. Punk was the first genre of music that really inspired me. After that I shifted my interests to other bands like Metallica, Megadeth, Testament, Slayer, COB, etc. For me the golden time of music is in the 80's (and the place of course is the Bay Area in San Francisco, the home of trash!). Old hard rock and heavy is also something that really strikes me. Motörhead, Deep Purple, Whitesnake, Black Sabbath and Judas Priest will always be a part of my record collection.

When I got to high school I met Matti, who had been playing guitar for several years. At the same time I felt like I wasn't getting enough of music just by listening, so I borrowed Matti's acoustic guitar (Landola) and began to play. That happened in the autumn of 2002. The next summer I bought myself Epiphone Les Paul, and my life changed permanently.

I also have an ESP ex-260 (LTD series) and Kari Olli - les paul (which I use live). Amplification: at home: Line 6 spider II, live: Peavey ValveKing VK 100. Guitar effects: Digitech Delay, Boss CH-1 and AC-3.

I've always also listened to other kind of bands and music. I consider Beastie Boys and Prince as musical genious, as well as David Bowie. U2, especially the early stuff, is great. Nowadays I am fond of Miles Davis, Wigwam, etc. Getting rid of your prejudice allows you to enjoy a wide range of different musical styles.
