How it all started:
My first interest in drums appeared when I was about 13 years old and learned to play the basic beat in the music class of the school. I guess it was our singer Jarmo who taught me that…..Actually Jarmo was in my opinion the greatest drummer you could imagine as he could play a simple fill after the basic beat. It was so cool.
After that I forgot all about drums and continued with my other hobbies such as drawing and playing basketball and it continued to the day that I and our ex-bassist Timo Sahlberg stumbled to the music class again and started goofing around, trying to play “Against The Wind” from Stratovarius. This happened in the early 2000. Very shortly after that I saw in a newspaper that someone was selling old drums very cheap. I got the money together and after that I´ve spent every second that I get to play.
At first I spent my time playing to my favourite music cds (Stratovarius, Helloween….you name it) and trying to learn the basics as well as possible. It was the same year that we (me and Timo) got together in the rehearsal room of Konnevesi, with Tero Vaaja and Jarmo Myllyvirta and the rest is history…..
