FOR THE IMPERIUM: Discuss Forthcoming Album In New Interview

For The Imperium have discussed their forthcoming album, which will be released in 2012, in a new interview by Lords Of Metal. You can read an excerpt below:

Your signed to WEA Finland, which sounds like a major label. Are you not afraid they will try to influence your song writing if they feel it should be more commercial or something?
Tuomas: The whole idea of this band is to be innovative and push the limits of metal music. We have a good understanding about it with Warner. Forcing us to do something commercial is not going to create anything new and they know it too. To be in a big company like Warner with experimental music is a great opportunity that is rarely offered to bands. So we feel privileged.

I understand you are already working on new material, how is that coming along? Do the live performances have any influence on the writing?
Tuomas: That’s true. We are releasing new album 2012. Well, composing is always very hard work. Sometimes we are sitting in front of computer four hours and get 25 seconds of music. Fuck! Why didn’t we choose singer-songwriter music....? We are fully convinced that the next album is going to be even better than the debut. We learned a lot when making the first one and there’s many things we will do better next time.

Ville: I’m so excited about the new stuff! It’s gonna rip everyone a new asshole! Gigs help you hear what works in a song and what doesn’t. Structurally at least. And it’s fun to see which riff becomes a mosh pit-moment.
