HIM Frontman Ville Valo - "This Is The First Album I Wrote Fully Sober"

HIM frontman Ville Valo recently spoke to Billboard.com about the band's forthcoming album, Screamworks. An excerpt from the chat is available below.

"This is the first album I wrote fully sober, and I wanted to put all the energy I used to put into hanging out in pubs into working on the music. So it was pretty insane, working 18-hour days for the past year, year and a half. We really went for all those details and didn't leave any stone unturned. Hopefully it shows."

looking at all of their albums, Venus Doom was a weaker album in my opinion. id like to see another Greatest Lovesongs V. 666 sounding, which is not wat this one is going to sound like from what ive heard, but still sounds like a great album. then again all of HIM albums are great.

The release date for the album changes from country to country. I think in US , it's gonna be released in 5 Feb whereas in Germany the date is set for either 9th or 10th..

@Hayley, I agree with you about the Greatest Hits album. I love that style of HIM. It was so dark and gothic but I doubt they will release an album like that anymore =/

Yup, I also think their weakest album is Dark lIght (still can't get why Metal Hammer included exactly this one in the contest Best album of the decade..?!?!).
Until now I've read only good reviews of the album, quite opposite to Venus Doom, let's hope it will abe also more successful. And that the promotion from Warner will be more professional... (any promo AT ALL would be nice, for starters..)
