MOONSORROW Forced To Cancel Sofia Concert

Finnish folk/pagan metal band MOONSORROW has been forced to cancel its previously announced November 14 concert at Blue Box Club in Sofia, Bulgaria. The group states, "Our bassist/vocalist Ville Sorvali's back had to be operated in an emergency situation. An intervertebral disc in his back was ruptured resulting in a pinched spinal nerve, so he could not even walk for days.

"The operation went smoothly and he should recover in time for the shows in Russia.

"We are extremely sorry about the cancellation and we hope to play in Bulgaria sometime later! Any pre-ordered tickets will be refunded by the organiser."

MOONSORROW's latest EP, "Tulimyrsky" (Firestorm), came out in April 2008 via Spikefarm Records. The CD contains over 60 minutes of music, including a cover version of METALLICA's "For Whom The Bell Tolls".

The band's most recent album, "Viides Luku – Hävitetty", was released in North America in April 2007 via Unruly Sounds/The End Records. The CD — 56 minutes of music comprised from two songs — continues to place the group as one of the forerunners of the folk/viking metal scene due in part to their extensive use of folklore and pagan elements in their music and imagery.
