SONATA ARCTICA Comment On Billboard Chart Entry
09.10.2009
The members of SONATA ARCTICA have checked in from their current North American tour with DRAGONFORCE in support of their latest release, The Days Of Grays, which recently debuted on the Billboard Top New Artist “Heatseeker’s” chart at #19 the week following its release date. This industry chart lists the best-selling albums by new artists who have never appeared on the Top 100 of the Billboard 200.
States the band: “Thank you all who bought The Days Of Grays already and made it out to be our biggest chart success in the US so far! You're the best! Simply amazing for the small town boys from northern Finland. We're so proud! We're touring North America at the moment, spreading the Arctic sounds and having a blast, as always! This kinda news is just the thing to give us the extra boost to continue on the path we've chosen. See ya around, folks! Rawk!”
The Days Of Grays also charted the following European first week positions:
- Finland: #2 (Certified Gold the day of release for sales over 15,000 copies)
- Germany: #24
- Sweden: #31
- Norway: #46
- Netherlands: #50
Known for making entire venues sing themselves hoarse, Finland's Sonata Arctica will be bringing their brand of intricate, uber-rock, high-speed metal to the western side of the globe with England’s Dragonforce in support of their latest album, The Days Of Grays.
Confirmed tour dates can be viewed on the band's MySpace page.

Onnea Sonata!
The new album is really great and last when I was in Canada watching them the rooms were packed. They're gettin a great response over there and I bet they'll be headlining in North America in no time. Now I can't wait for them to come back and tour in Finland again!

So excited to see them in just a week or so here in the US. :D

that's great for them! Congratulations!
on another subject... could someone in MFF please change the band picture? The look in Tony's eyes in that drawing makes him look like he's wincing in pain. After all the hard work and touring, you'd think the guy deserves a little better.

oh......I think the profile pic is absolutely gorgeous

I agree about the picture. Tony also looks really pale, like a vampire.
Congrats on the Heatseekers Spot, SA.

My friends and I observed a rather large line for Sonata merch and no line for Dragonforce merch. And then we left 10 minutes into DragonFarce.
