REVIEW: Cain´s Offering - Gather The Faithful

TERO TOLKKI of Metal From Finland wrote a review of the Cain's Offering cd Gather The Faithful. Few excerpts below:
"PERKELE! What the hell just happen? What is this album? New band of Ex-Sonata Arctica Jani Liimatainen? Wasn't he "kindly" asked to leave SA 2007 and the reasons were...and I quote... "his messing around with his compulsory military/civil/prison duty, or rather, complete failure to take care of it". Well Sonata Arctica had a new guitar player Elias Viljanen and they continued their path. Was it a succesful one I don't know but in my opinion their first album without Jani Liimatainen, which was "Unia" wasn't all that good album.
With Cain's Offering Jani Liimatainen has hooked on with very talented musicians. Vocalist Timo Kotipelto (Stratovarius, Kotipelto), keyboardist Mikko Harkin (Solution.45, Mehida, ex-Sonata Arctica, ex-Wingdom, ex-Kenziner), bassist Jukka Koskinen (Norther, Wintersun) and drummer Jani "Hurtsi" Hurula (Paul Di'Anno). The roster seems to be in order...what about the album then?"

This is the first time that i have to agree with you, Tero. Gather the Faithful sounds awesome and Kotipelto's vocals are amazing, better than in Polaris, I have to say...

The Days of Grays is the first album of SA with Elias Viljanen.
Btw... Cain's Offering simply awesome.
MFF Staff: Yes it was my mistake and I will correct it in the blog. I remembered that Jani wasn't in the band anymore then.

Jani worked at Unia... Elias first album is Days Of Grays.

MFF Staff: Yes I kinda admitted this earlier already didn't I? I still believe that after reading things behind his firing, his collaboration in Unia wasn't 100%. But yes he was still in the band then.
