A track-by-track review/description of "The Days Of Grays" can be found on Terrorizer.com.
SONATA ARCTICA keyboardist Henrik "Lance" Klingenberg previously described the band's new material as "a bit darker and maybe not so complex as [2007's] 'Unia'. Nevertheless, it's definitely not a back-to-the-roots album with fast power metal. All the trademark SONATA stuff is on there, solos, lots of singing some slower songs."

SONATA ARCTICA will play a handful of headlining dates prior to and at the end of their North American tour with DRAGONFORCE. These shows will be the only SONATA ARCTICA headlining gigs until next spring.

SONATA ARCTICA's October 13, 2009 concert has been switched from the Rex Theater in Pittsburgh to the Ches-A-Rena in Cheswick, Pennsylvania — approximately 11 miles from the original venue. All tickets will be honored for the new location.

  9. Thought they said they were to mature for the old sonata-power metal..? But it sounds like they went back, compared to Unia, to their older awsome sound with this one.

  10. nice song, although it sounds a little old... like they've done it before, it doesn't sound brand new. but even then, it's way better than a lot of band's best efforts! I guess I just expected to hear something fresh, something that surprised me or blew me away... so far that didn't happen, guess I'll just have to wait to listen to the new cd.
the guy in the video looks like prince Harry with long hair.
and is it me or Tony lost quite a bit of weight? his face seemed thinner. luckily, his adorable beauty remains intact. :)

  11. Some of Flag was written in 1996, so it does sound a bit older. But it was mostly rewritten anyway.

If you want fresh, awesome, then listen to the other single, The Last Amazing Grays.

Flag sounds a bit flat in the video. The single version explodes in pure awesomeness at the chorus. Though still, it is the worst song on the album for me. It was originally going to be a bonus track, but Nuclear wanted it to be a single.

I've heard the whole album from thepeoplesmusic store preview, which is now down, and I have to say it rocks. It is balanced, epic, and despite what some reviews say, doesn't not sound like Nightwish. It only has two totally wacky songs, and both have wicked choruses, which grounds them nicely. They're two of my favorite songs too. Lots of Tony screaming also on this album. :)

  12. Sorry guys, but I don't care for this song or the video. Tony doesn't sound as good as he normally does, the guitar is too stock and standard so much that the verses sound like bland nu metal riffs, and the chorus is ripped right off of The Cage. This is not the Sonata is remembered from their earlier days...
I know I'll probably get some negative feedback from people, but this is how I feel.
