SINERGY Catalog Reissues Announced
28.07.2009
Metal Mind Productions has announced the exclusive re-releases of SINERGY's complete discography, including Beware The Heavens (1999), To Hell And Back (2000) and Suicide By My Side (2002), showcasing the sheer brilliance of one of Finland’s most talented metal groups.
According to a press release: "Sinergy is one of the most exceptional power metal acts ever to emerge on the Scandinavian scene. Considered a super-group this project managed to combine all the best elements of power, melodic, death and heavy metal, ultimately creating their own recognizable style. Originally, the idea to form the project came in 1998 from vocalist Kimberly Goss (who was at the time the keyboard player for DIMMU BORGIR; in the past she performed with such bands as THERION and AVERNUS) and guitarist Jasper Strömblad (known from IN FLAMES). The two met during a joint world tour and discussed the possibility of forming a female-fronted metal act. The idea was put on hold for some time, but soon after Goss left Dimmu Borgir and moved to Sweden, Sinergy once again became a subject of many discussions. Finally, with the addition of guitarist Alexi “Wildchild” Laiho (CHILDREN OF BODOM), drummer Ronny Milianowicz (DIONYSUS) and bassist Sharlee D’Angelo (ARCH ENEMY, MERCYFUL FATE, SPIRITUAL BEGGARS), Sinergy became a fact and the collective begun working on their debut material."
Sinergy’s re-issues will be available in new digipak editions, each limited to 2000 copies. The material was digitally remastered using 24-Bit process. The release date is scheduled for August 24th in Europe and October 6th in USA (via MVD).

Sadly it seems like when a band is buried by time (and by its members as well), somebody just release reissue of old albums like a remembrance...it happened to For My Pain too...

I hear that CrusT. The time is long past when I was holding my breath for new release from these two great Finnish bands. Let's just hope the same doesn't happen to Wintersun's Time because when that comes out it's going to be incredible!

Sinergy, For My Pain... and also Sethian (another cool project) are just side projects. That's the main problem. When main projects (Children of Bodom, Nightwish, to a lesser extent Eternal Tears of Sorrow, Charon) are very successful and people are busy with them, they will tend to neglect their side projects.
In the case of Sinergy, an additional problem seems to be that the driving force, Kimberly Goss, has seemingly disappeared from the face of the earth. When she isn't there to kick Laiho's and Latvala's asses, things won't make progress. I wonder if they've already given up on Sins of the Past. It would be an incredible shame. Sinergy is so much better than Children of Bodom now.
The Sinergy back catalogue was actually my first metal purchase. I've kept listening to it to this day and enjoying it loads.
