MICHAEL MONROE: "MIKE PATTON Is Definitely Still One Of The Best Singers In The Business"

Former HANOI ROCKS vocalist MICHAEL MONROE has issued the following update:

"Last weekend (July 3rd to 5th) at the Ruisrock festival in Turku (Finland) was fun.

Normally (in recent years) at the festival I would just do my own show and pretty much leave right afterwards. This time it was cool to hang out around the area for three days and check out different bands on all the stages for a change. I announced a few of them and saw a lot of cool shows.

One of them was THE WILDHEARTS, a great live band. At the end of their set I got up to sing 'Kick Out The Jams with them as a special guest and enjoyed it very much. Also, on Saturday afternoon I got together with Ginger at his hotel to write some songs, which was very productive!

LIVING END rocked. CALEXICO are very different and sounded fantastic. GOGOL BORDELLO were great fun.

SLIPKNOT put on an energetic and dangerous looking show which was very entertaining to say the least. As it turned out, the guys were very appreciative of my work as well and it was really cool to meet them afterwards.

FAITH NO MORE was great, as expected. Mike Patton is definitely still one of the best singers in the business.

All in all it was a nice experience."
