10.06.2009
We are glad to announce the band that will tour with Tarja:
Tarja Turunen Vocals
Mike Terrana Drums (Masterplan, Savage Circus, ex Rage, ex Malmsteen)
Maria Ilmoniemi Keyboards
Doug Wimbish Bass (Living Colour, Madonna, Jeff Beck, Rolling Stones)
Kiko Loureiro Guitars (Angra)
Max Lilja Cello (Hevein, ex Apocalyptica)
Please check the confirmed dates of the Summer Storm 2009 tour in the “Concerts” section of www.tarjaturunen.com
Once again, all the shows included in Summer Storm 2009 Tour were declared “camera friendly”, which means that you are welcome to bring your photo camera and take as many pictures as you wish. This is with the exception of gigs in festivals, where you will have to ask to the organization of the festival about their camera policy for we can not exceed the regulations established by them.

Doug Wimbish? He doesnt sound like a good metal bass player to me. lol Madonna wtf

Hayley- I'd rather have a good bass player than just a metal bass player ;) this man is very talented, and I don't think Tarja is just exclusive to metal either.

@Hayley
As somebody just said to me: a bunch of musicians , who were mostly kicked out from their ex bands :D
But in these announc?ments about Tarja's concerts is always mentioned that they are "camera friendly". Why that? Last year i was at about 8 big concerts ( including Tarja's) and i never had problem about my camera.
stanislava wrote on 11.06.2009 at 11:25
Stanislava, exactly. Taht is the way, how to put it straight.
All are "Ex" (do not know about Maria Ilmoniemi). It is like the movie "First wifes club".
Though, in this case revenge does not sound as possible.
As for cameras: all concerts are camera-friendly. The rest of them just do not advertise.

Guys, about the "camera friendly" thing,it's good thing they say it,because in the show i went in December of 2005 with Tarja the guys from security were searching us for cameras.Same in NW and Kamelot.
I believe they say that because of the security in venue. Many people are afraid that they will search them and take their cameras so they don't bring them.

Brian- You have a good point there.
ugh im glad they say camera friendly, those security are such bastards.

Great band + great music + Tarja = happy Tilly :D :p

Don't go bashing on Mr. Wimbish, you have to be extremely talented to backup acts like Madonna, shitty pop music regardless, and he played with Jeff Beck, that's heavy shit, don't hate, haha.

It is said that concerts are camera friendly because they are camera friendly! I've been to several Blackmore's Night concerts and organizers would always announce that Ritchie said if they see a single flash light in the audience they would stop the concert and leave the stage. ;-)
