CHILDREN OF BODOM To Play Co-Headling Date With AS I LAY DYING In Virginia

CHILDREN OF BODOM have announced they will play a co-headlining show with AS I LAY DYING on May 14th at The Norva in Norfolk, Virginia, right before their seven-week North American run with LAMB OF GOD ends the next day in South California.

The band have also revealed an updated 2009 Summer Festival schedule, which includes the following dates:

June
12 - Provinssirock - Seinäjoki, Finland
20 - Metalway Festival - Zaragoza, Spain
26 - Metaltown - Gothenburg, Sweden

18 - Ilosaarirock - Joensuu, Finland


Children Of Bodom's official fan site, Scythes Of Bodom, has posted an extensive recap of the band's recent European tour featuring CANNIBAL CORPSE and DIABLO as support. An excerpt appears below.

"When Children Of Bodom was last summer making plans for their European headlining tour, they were extremely thrilled when their booking agency Continental Concerts told them about the unreal opportunity to get the American death metal legends Cannibal Corpse to open up for them. Regardless of the arisen 'is this really happening?' or 'have we really taken this crappy punk band so far that we can do this?' type of confusion that derived from the band's modesty typically related with the Finnish mentality, the band wasn't passing up on this unique chance.

Obviously the fans of COB and CC aren't necessarily the same peeps. This could be a good thing to pull in bigger crowds, but with a big support band there's always a risk that a large group of people leaves before the headliner.

Many Cannibal Corpse fans were pretty disappointed that, just like COB did with the SLIPKNOT tour, the first European tour following the release of the new Cannibal Corpse album Evisceration Plague would be just a support tour."
