5. Well that is the problem with these polls / awards. Usually the most known bands take everything just cause they have the largest fanbase and therefore most potential voters. I do agree with Mikko that these results doesn't represent the so-called best of the best. There are so many good bands out there that doesn't stand a chance on these awards unfortunately.
   
   But as said above...public has spoken. But one band that does kick ass is that unsigned band Devil Manmade! How can a band like that still be without record deal?

9. Mmm, I think HIM and Nightwish are good bands....but Nightwish pretty much won everything last year too....and neither HIM or Nightwish are THAT good. I was very surprised to see that Apocalyptica had come before Children Of Bodom and The Rasmus in the best band category though! Apocalyptica definately deserve that recognition....I do love Bodom and The Rasmus though, all three are incredibly talented...And such nice guys in person :)

Perhaps the categories need to be renamed to reflect the real reason these bands and individuals win.

16. Ok....... I`m not agree with that "Nightwish Monopoly". I say that every musician is quite good playing his own type of metal (Emppu doesn`t play like Alexi and they are both great). But come on, there`s no way that Nightwish gets all the titles becuase it`s not the favorite band of every single person.

27. Just reading the comments. How can anyone say Ville can't sing? His voice is so beautiful and also powerful with it with a distinctive twist to it. As for it not being fair on the lesser known bands everyone had a fair chance in this. Bands become popular because they cpature the imagination of a lot of people and they can relate to them so fair play to the hard work Ville and boys have done over the years.

37. Well yes we are Metal From Finland that's true. But we have had for instance rockbands since day 1 here in MFF too. That is why our sitedescription says the following:
    
    Metal from Finland - Encyclopedia for Finnish Rock and Metal music. Just simply call it MFF
    
    Just go to google and type Metal From Finland and see the results :)

For instance bands like Nightwish, Amorphis, Stratovarius. You really should get your data checked before writing things like that.

66. I'm assuming most of you are younger than I am so let me mention this here. When you all say blah, blah (insert band name here) was the first to break out from Finland. Hanoi Rocks was the first Finnish band I had heard of and that was a looooong time ago. Coming from middle America, that's saying alot.
    
    And on the metal/rock debate. Who cares? Good music is good music and if you're missing out on "softer" or "harder" music because you want to stay in your safe little box, that's your choice. If I like a band, I like a band. I don't care what genre they are. It's useless to argue opinions.
    
    There are tons more bands that I'm looking forward to hearing from and I can't wait until I find them.

67. There seems to be some debate over whether H.I.M are a good band or not. Well, there is one sure fire, never-fail test to find out whether an artist blows or not, and that is whether they are on music television here, in Britain. If they are, it means they've compromised their dignity enough to appeal to the same audience that made The Saturdays and Alexandra Burke a hit. Rant over, but unfortunately, H.I.M and The Rasmus (who, by the way, used to be a hip hop group) are on music television here, which can only mean one thing! Nightwish on the other hand are not, and I believe Marco, Tuomas and the rest ARE deserving of the awards they won. Jon out
