STRATOVARIUS: Timo Kotipelto won the first War Of The Choirs competition

TIMO KOTIPELTO (Stratovarius, Kotipelto) and his choir from Lappajärvi have won the first War Of The Choirs competition. In the finals Timo's choir was against the choir of Mikki Kauste. The winner got 40000 Euros which they would donate to the cause of their choice and Timo decided to give the money to musical activities for the youth in his hometown Lappajärvi.

Timo's choir sang 3 songs in the final and they were You Shook Me All Night (AC/DC), Over The Hills And Far Away (Gary Moore) ja I Want It All (Queen).

Stratovarius is getting active again after the departure of guitarist / songwriter Timo Tolkki. They are releasing their new album titled "Polaris" on May 21st 2009.
