Valo also went on to reveal that HIM have begun work on their seventh studio album and fans will be shocked by the band's new material.

"It'sa bit of a departure from me this time around," he said. "This time everything is very direct and straight to the point.'

  1. I love HIM, but it's kind of boring how Ville always says the same (vague) thing about every album the band is working on.
On other hand, it's always sad to be able to see things so clearly. I know I wish I couldn't most of the time. Still... drinking won't change that, even if it seems like it does at the beginning.

  2. I can understand why recording and writing this album would be so much more a challange to Ville. He has been drinking side by side with his creative flow of energy since day one... as for the person under me writing about Bille being "vague", well of course he is. I'm sure he is evolving constantly and changing the material as well. Why say the new album is a certian "genre" or whever when it isnt even recorded and packaged yet? There is so much they can continue changing. Ville being sober & depressed at times is more to be concerned about. As much as I can't wait for the new album, I'd prefer to wait years if it meant rushing it caused a relapse or worse. Lets give the guy a break and let him re-discover himself and have breathing room to have his first ever sober album. Put yourself in his shoes & not to judge. I've been thru treatment and am an artist. My writing, painting, EVERYTHING suffered and still does. I respect him for being honest. KUDOS VILLE! Keep your chin up & take the time you need! 7. I am glad that Ville had become sober because he was close to a frickin heart failure! And its better to have boring old depressed Ville than no Ville at all... so Im proud of him and I hope he quits smoking as well... probably wont happen but at least worth mentioning. I have been a HIM fan since they began, well since 2000, and I know the guys from the band so well especially Ville and everything theyve gone through over the years, and I know Ville is a strong smart individual but hes still human, so yeah I agree that he needs time off to relax and getaway from constant touring and stuff. He needs to go back to writing those amazing lyrics because he loves to and not becuz they NEED to record an album.. With too much pressure he might have a relapse or a nervous breakdown or worse. HIM has been touring almost nonstop for over 10 years, most of their life! Thats dedication. So they deserve a break, but dont take one becuz theyre still not 'financially stable' enough. I hate the fact that so called true HIM fans dont really buy their albums and get their music illegal or 'leaked' and take the money away from all their hard work. I heard that HIm owes a lot of money because of their recent DVD got leaked early and people got all over it before the real release and so hardly enough people bought it.. stuff like that pisses me off. And if HIM took a break for like frickin 10 years, I would still be waiting for them and be thier number one fan..If there were more HIM fans like that, HIM and Ville wouldnt have so much pressure.. well, cant wait for their new album. I hope Ville knows there are lots of people he doesnt even know that truly care for him and wish the best.. HIM is the best!

  8. I love the band H.I.M. If he feels depressed about being sober he should read Brave New World. One of the sub-units in the book is being sober while everyone around you is high. Can't wait for the new album.

  9. I think it's great Ville is finally experiencing life as it is and not living in an inebriated state of uphoria. Better sober and sad than drunk and dead! Can't wait for the new album and am not surprised by Ville's usual waffle re the direction. When has one ever been able to make any HIM album fit into any prescribed "box"/style/genre anyway ??? Hopefully the next one will be no exception to this rule either.

  14. Ville darling! I know your scared about being sober, I can understand that, being the daughter of a functioning alchoholic, it would be good if my Dad would try to be the same way that you are. Whenever you feel like going off the wagon, think of all of the people that love you, both that you know and those you don't, draw on our love for you, we will help you through. I LOVE YOU VILLE! I can't wait for the new album! I am looking forward to the new sounds that the band will be giving us.

  15. Don't worry Valo, its hard in the begining. You'll get used to it. I quit drinking a while ago and had all these new feelings that I hid with booze and hid from life itself. Therapy helps(It doesn't sound so metal lol, it works though, write a song about it or something)Just keep on keepin on with being sober. You'll feel healthy and it helps in the long run to deal with life sober too so you make the right decisions...
hahah I know its sounds like an AA Meeting but support helps Love!:)
    Stay Well Ville Valo!!
