LORDI: New Video Interview Posted Online

Japan's WeROCK City has posted a seven-minute interview with frontman Mr. Lordi and drummer Kita of the Finnish monster hard rockers LORDI conducted during the band's recent promotional visit to Japan. They talk about their new costume designs, upcoming album "Deadache" and the experience of meeting their rock idols KISS and ALICE COOPER for the first time when they shared the stage with them at the Rock2Wgtn festival in New Zealand this past March. Watch the interview at this location.

"Bite It Like a Bulldog", the new video from LORDI, can be viewed below. The single, which recently topped the Finnish chart, features a powerful bass line and was co-written by the group's mainman Mr. Lordi (real name: Tomi Putaansuu) and bassist Mr. Ox.

Regarding the video, which was directed by Limppu Lindberg, LORDI mainman Mr. Lordi told Headbanger's Blog, "We wanted to achieve something that breaks the tradition of LORDI videos. The director has been my graphic 'right hand' for years, and we felt that it was time to let him have a try on this side, too. His previous work includes videos for CHILDREN OF BODOM, NORTHER and many other Finnish metal bands."

He continued, "The idea was to have a video with a not-so-simple and easily understandable storyline. We wanted the clip to focus on the feeling of the song and the new, more grotesque look of the band. The modern horror film classics such as 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre' remake and 'Hostel' were the starting points and the influence for the visual look."

LORDI's fourth studio album, "Deadache", will be released in the U.S. on October 28 and internationally in the same week. The Nino Laurenne-produced CD, much like its predecessors, is catchy, melodic hard rock, but this time around there is a rougher edge to the music.

"Deadache" track listing:

01. SGC IV
02. Girls Go Chopping
03. Bite It Like a Bulldog
04. Monsters keep Me Company
05. Man Skin Boot
06. Dr. Sin is In
07. The Ghosts of Heceta Head
08. Evilyn

11. Deadache
12. The Devil Hides behind her Smile
13. Missing Miss Charlene
14. Where’s the Dragon (Japanese bonus track)

LORDI's previous studio album, "The Arockalypse", has sold over 350,000 copies worldwide. The album has been released in over 30 countries, including the U.S. and Japan and the album has been certified over triple platinum in the band's home country of Finland, gold in Germany (100,000 units), and gold in Sweden (40,000 units). The single "Hard Rock Hallelujah" has achieved gold status in Germany (150,000 units). The new album, "Deadache", will be released in over 30 countries as well, including all of Europe, the U.S., and Japan.

  1. I don't think Mr. Lordi should be giving such videointerviews cause his voice doesn't suit the costume! The guy sounds like he just broke puberty and he is wearing a monster costume like that? C'mon!
