AMBERIAN DAWN: UK Shows Postponed

Finnish female-fronted metal band AMBERIAN DAWN has issued the following update:

"We are very sad to announce this but due to a problem with air traffic control systems, several scheduled flights were cancelled in South-East England on Thursday, September 25. This also reflected to the flights to and from Helsinki, Finland on Thursday and Friday. AMBERIAN DAWN was scheduled to depart Helsinki on Friday morning.

"With such short notice, neither the airline or the management were not able to rebook flights on any airline carrier that would have enabled the band to arrive early enough to make it to the show at the Underworld in London, UK on Friday, September 26. Therefore, with great regret, AMBERIAN DAWN is rescheduling their UK shows. New dates will be announced as soon as possible. This unforeseen and unavoidable technical problem was beyond anybody's control but we will do our best to reschedule new dates for the fans in the UK. Thank you for your patience and support.

"Please contact venues for more information. None of the shows are canceled. But AMBERIAN DAWN is not going to play there. Our information is that London show is on with PYTHIA and HANGING DOLL. Also Dames of Darkness festival is fully on without us."

AMBERIAN DAWN recently returned to Rockstar Productions studio in Hyvinkää, Finland to begin recording its sophomore album for a 2009 release. The CD will feature 12 songs plus a bonus track for the Japanese edition.

"River of Tuoni", the new video from AMBERIAN DAWN, can be viewed below. The clip was directed by Matti Kuusniemi in Jyväskylä and features animated 3D graphics in the spirit of the lyrics in addition to the powerful band performance in a studio environment.

AMBERIAN DAWN had its debut album, "River of Tuoni", released in European territories outside of Finland on June 16 via Ascendance Records. Tracks from the CD can currently be streamed on the group's MySpace page.

The band previously stated: "Our [Finnish] label, Suomen Musiikki, has defined AMBERIAN DAWN's music as fantasy metal, but as always, the genre borders are very thin and hard to define. Our music has definitely fantasy in its lyrics... but melody and rhythm are the key components."
