AMORPHIS Secures Finnish Gold

Finnish metallers AMORPHIS have issued the following update:

"On February 15, AMORPHIS were presented with gold discs for 'Silent Waters' and 'Eclipse'. Both albums have sold more than 15,000 copies in Finland, a feat not yet achieved by any of the band's earlier albums.

"According to the Finnish National Group of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), 'Silent Waters' was Nr. 34 of the best-selling domestic albums in Finland in 2007 and thereby counts among the top ten metal albums for last year."

AMORPHIS' latest album, "Silent Waters", entered the German Media Control chart at position No. 44. Released in North America on September 18, 2007, the CD is the second AMORPHIS album to feature singer Tomi Joutsen (SINISTHRA). It was recorded at Sonic Pump studios in Helsinki, Finland. Mixing duties were handled by Mikko Karmila (NIGHTWISH, STRATOVARIUS) at Finnvox studios.
