BATTLELORE Explains KORPIKLAANI Tour Cancellation
05.12.2007
Finnish "fantasy metal" band BATTLELORE recently cancelled its participation in KORPIKLAANI's December 2007 European tour. The group has since issued the following update:
"As many of the venues already listed us as the support for the small upcoming tour with KORPIKLAANI, it’s appropriate to tell you guys here that our part on that tour got cancelled. We are VERY sorry about that. It would have been excellent and fuckin' brilliant to finally tour at least a bit in UK. Not to dismiss Germany or Netherlands in any way, it would have been great to meet all the old friends and possible new ones there too! Also having 'a few' beers with KORPIKLAANI guys during the tour would probably have been very pleasant, though hurtful afterwards, experience. Well, what can you do? Maybe next time… And to add, the band is not responsible for the cancellation."
As previously reported, BATTLELORE will play two shows with BAL-SAGOTH in Finland in January. The details are as follows:
Jan. 25 - Helsinki, Finland - Nosturi
Jan. 26 - Turku, Finland - Klubi
BATTLELORE is currently working on material for its fifth album, tentatively due next summer. "At the moment it seems that there will be bigger, more epic parts in the vein of 'Sword's Song' but also more harder, heavier parts in the vein of 'Evernight'," stated vocalist Tomi Mykkänen. "I'm quite sure that you fans won't be disappointed with this one."
BATTLELORE released its fourth album, "Evernight", in North America on March 13, 2007 via Napalm Records. The CD was issued in Europe in February.
The follow-up to 2005's "Third Age of the Sun", "Evernight" was recorded at MusicBros Studio and was produced by Miitri Aaltonen, who previously worked with the Finnish "fantasy metal" band on their first two CDs, "...Where The Shadows Lie" (2002) and "Sword's Song" (2003). The mastering duties were handled at Finnvox Studios.
