LORDI Guitarist Amen: "We Don´t Just Want To Be Remembered As A Rock Band That Won Eurovision"

"When I spoke with Amen, LORDI's god of gods who won last year's Eurovision Song Contest, he was getting over jet lag!

It was not from flying on some interstellar mission in his role as mummy avenger, but returning from a flight to the United States, where the group has been touring.

The band is lining up a 24 show tour there later this year as support to veteran rocker OZZY OSBOURNE.

The guitarist, called Jussi Sydaname with the mask off, said: "Since we won Eurovision in Athens we have had a very successful year. Our success in last year's competition was very important to us. We had a smaller number of fans before but now everybody knew us and it was a very good thing.

"We have done a lot of touring and travelling since but we don't just want to be remembered as a rock band which won Eurovision."

While people in Britain tend to take the seriousness of winning Eurovision with a large pinch of salt in musical terms Amen points out how special it was for Finland who won the competition at the 42nd attempt.

"It was a huge thing for Finnish people. We are a small country and now we have the competition that we thought we would never win. The event on Saturday is probably the biggest entertainment event ever. Obviously, this time around we will be rooting for Finland to win it again."

Amen who appears like the rest of with demon masks on at each and every public appearance said: "The masks have become our image. I want to reassure British fans that we have no intention of ever getting rid of them."
