LORDI Confirmed For Mainstage Of Ozzfest

Finland's monster Rock n' Roll band LORDI has been selected as one of the main stage acts for OZZFEST 2007, alongside headliners OZZY OSBOURNE and LAMB OF GOD.

LORDI, whose latest album, the critically acclaimed "The Arockalypse", dropped this past Tuesday, March 20, as a special CD/DVD package via NYC's The End Records, are excited to be on this much-anticipated annual North American tour, referred to this year as 'FreeFest' because all tickets to the event are free.

On the topic of joining this year's Ozzfest, set to launch July 12 in Seattle, WA, LORDI frontman Mr. Lordi states, "It is a great honor for us to be a part of OZZFEST and obviously it is going to be a great opportunity for us to show the people in the U.S. what we can do...or what they think we can do [laughs]. For us the idea of playing OZZFEST is still hard to believe. I'll believe it when we're there."

Confirmed bands performing on this year's OZZFEST second stage include HATEBREED (second stage headliner), MONDO GENERATOR, ANKLA, CIRCUS DIABLO and NILE.

Last week, LORDI swept the annual Ema Gala Awards (The Finnish record industry's Grammy equivalent), winning every category they were nominated for: Band of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year ("Hard Rock Hallelujah") and Top Selling Album of the Year.

LORDI will perform their first ever North American live dates when they launch their 'Monster Invasion', which will kick off on April 20, in Anaheim, California at House of Blues. The much anticipated headlining tour will wrap with a high profile, two-night stint at the Bamboozle Music Festival, set to take place on May 5 and 6, 2007 at the Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Since winning Eurovision in 2006 by its highest score ever, LORDI's popularity has grown to gargantuan heights, with the band conquering numerous European charts and a six-week sold out tour of Europe. The band's latest album, "The Arockalypse" has been certified triple platinum in Finland and is now also among the Top 60 best-selling Finnish albums ever.
