The Last Word
Name three words that describe you?
"Caring, kind and impatient."
Bottle things up or let it all out?
"Let it all out."
Do you view the world through a glass half-empty or half-full?
"Depends on my overall life situation. I am a worrier and if my life isn't as good as I want it to be, I think and over-analyse things."
You wake up suddenly at 4am. What's up?
"Probably my son is coming to say he needs a cup of water."
A record you listen to that cheers you up?
"Justin Timberlake's latest album."
Something you've regretted doing?
"I try not to regret things, but falling in love with someone that maybe wasn't good for me."
Best piece of advice you've ever ignored?
"Don't fall in love with that guy. Ha ha!"
What would be your eighth deadly sin?
"I was raised and taught to not do any sins, so I have difficulty even trespassing on the smaller sins. Maybe the eighth sin would be to never listen to your parents and just be the original person who was born into this world."
Religious, spiritualist, humanist or none of them?
"I am religious and spiritualist. It's hard to describe my faith...but I pray to God every day, and then if God is my inner-self or a man in the sky, that I do not care about."
How long do you spend in front of a mirror in the morning?
"Not long. I don't wear heavy make-up, so just some foundation and mascara. Maybe 15 minutes, tops."
Last time you got upset?
"Yesterday."
What was your plan B?
"I always have faith that my life will work out, so I was already making plan Bs during the whole Nightwish thing [open audiotions to replace previous singer Tarja Turunen], and I studied at university to be a coach. I also had deals on the way with other record labels at the time. I have known since I was a small child that I would be a famous singer. Weird, but I knew."
What's your ultimate ambition?
"To be totally happy in everything in my life. Love, job, everything. I want to look back one day and see that I was doing everything I could to get as much as possible out of this life. Crazy dreams, but I still hope I can be totally happy one day."
What's the record you never confess to owning?
"I really don't know...I have never felt ashamed of anything about me or what I do. So none."
Family or work?
"That's a very tricky question with no easy answer. For me my son is the most important thing in life, I would die for him. But at the same time it's so important for me that I can work with the thing I love most, which is singing. And with that job comes sacrifices, like going on tour and leaving my son. It's the hardest thing in the world to come home and see my son crying and saying that his biggest wish in life is that I won't travel anymore. Still, I can't choose that easily. I want both and I have to say that both are equally important, but the choice I have made now is work."
Proudest day of your life?
"When I first held my son in my arms."
Biggest turn-on?
"A guy who is confident and makes me laugh."
Biggest turn-off?
"Men who don't respect women."
Main hobby other than music?
"Running and horses."
Worst/biggest vice?
"Impatience and control-need."
What will be your famous last words?
"I don't know. I am nothing special, so why should my last words be special?"
What would you like to be remembered for/as?
"As a warm, caring and loving person, who tried her best to always give peole from herself."
