Biography

VUOHI (Finnish for GOAT) is a Finnish grindcore band with influences from primitive thrash, black and death metal in general.

The whole idea of VUOHI was born somewhere in summer 2002. Veri had thought about forming a grindcore band and asked if Luoti was interested in becoming a guitarist of that band. Veri joined and the era of VUOHI got started.

The beginning was silent. Days, weeks and months passed. Few songs were written but nothing really happened until 2004. The band began to rehearse more seriously and the target was to made the first demo recording for VUOHI. However, due to the fact that they both lived in different cities, things still moved on with not so huge volume.

Also during the same year Saha took part for the rehearsals first time. He bagan to write lyrics for Vuohi, took part for practising and during 2006 he officially joined the band. Shortly after that Vuohi horde became as complete as it can be when Raaka joined the band. Firstly it was planned that Raaka would only play bass on the demo as a session member, but soon it was realizised that he must be a part of Vuohi.

Recording sessions began during 2006, but after the demo was recorded and mixed it was decided that it must be done again. It just didn't sound good enough. So, the whole thing was done twice.

Finally, in the July of 2007 the first demo of VUOHI, titled TOTAL NOISE CHAOS saw the moon's light. The birth was hard and long, but it was over. It took seven hateful and melancholic songs and over 12 minutes. Soon after the release of the demo Vuohi played it's first gig in Oulu, Finland and retired for six months.

In the beginnig of 2008 VUOHI started hard rehearsing. At the same time the demo got some pretty good reviews (Chambers magazine's demo of the month and 3/5 in Imperiumi.net). At this point of the story VUOHI is about to start the recordings of its second demo. It is a chrystal clear fact that the attack about to come, will be MUCH more primitive, hateful, depressing, deeper, stronger, devilish and wise.

It is time. To prepare for war. To rise. To feel and to live enlightment. To crush, destroy and to create the new kingdom.
