The Grammers

Biography

The Grammers was formed in 1999 in southwestern Finland, in a little town called Säkylä. For the first six years the home of the band was an old chicken house turned into a rock'n'roll grotto by a local rock-loving farmer. The band started playing gigs in the beginning of the new millennium, and has been going on ever since. The Grammers have performed at hundreds of festival, club and bar events, which have gained them a reputation as a great, energetic live band and created a loyal fan base that keeps on expanding all the time.

With self-acting grass roots work and self-published, now sold out EPs and promotional singles The Grammers gained respect from their audience, critics and media. In addition to their own releases the band has also been presented on different compilations in Europe and Asia.

After winning The Rock-SM Championship in Finland in spring 2002, the band recorded its self-titled debut album on analog tape at Hi-Go Studios, Säkylä, signed a deal with Major Leidén Productions (also known for publishing e.g. Hanoi Rocks), shot a promotional video and played more and more awesome gigs.

At the end of 2003 the band entered the Seawolf Studios to record a follow-up for their brilliant debut. The second album 'Money & Glory' was produced by the Havana Black pioneer Hannu Leidén and the album saw the daylight in 2004. The hit single 'Come Around' was played on heavy rotation e.g. on a Finnish radio station Radio City. Still the major booking agencies refused to take The Grammers in their roster and the album never really broke into the market.

The band, with or without bitterness, continued persistently their brilliant hard work rocking and began to write new material during touring Finland still on self-booking basis. At the end of 2005 the band entered the Hi-Go Studios again to record the first new tracks for their third studio album 'ONLY HARD IS HARD ENOUGH'. The process was hard in deed and most of the tracks were re-recorded and re-producer by the band before the material was good enough, i.e. hard as a diamond.

During the years 2006 and 2007 the band toured Europe for the first time, moved their training house to Turku and signed a deal with a booking agency Music Factory. At the moment the band is still searching for a producer to mix the already recorded album.

With the following album 'ONLY HARD IS HARD ENOUGH' The Grammers will continue with great, roots-respecting but still innovative and soulful hard rock music.
