Subsonics

Biography

Subsonics is a finnish, helsinki based post-modern rock band - active since May'09. The sound of the band is a mix of metal, rock, pop, heavy guitar walls, 80's/90's synths, aggression, brightness and melancholy. Currently we're done with our first recording, touring as much as possible and will be relasing our first EP next fall 2010 (or sooner). "

Story of Subsonics:

"Subsonics", said the drummer.

"Fuck NO" was the response.

Anyway, the band reached a conclusion after going through other good band names such as "Vampire motherFuckers" and "HardRockJesus", eventually ending up with the original idea - closest to the sound they generate as a band.

The guys had been playing together for some time. After an egoistic journey that took too much of their time they finally knew what was missing - someone who could actually work with them to create something only a collective but an artistic, individual mind could achieve. Something what was lost and yet to be found. They tried, they really did...

At first she declined.

As a classically educated pro/drop-out with a wide variety of musical genres explored, she wasn't all that interested with their music, sound, problems and diplomatic skills. Convinced of her performance skills they dared to ask. She said NO.

But then, ...

"I've been thinking... and I kind of miss the music in my life"

That phone-call basically changed everything.
