Biography
The first "official" line-up of Skirmish was founded in October 2005 with Timo Komulainen on vocals, Tero Kemppainen and Mikko Kupiainen on guitars and Jukka Tolonen on the drums. In that time we didn't have a bass player or even a band name, but we started to arrange and rehearse our old songs that we have written with earlier combinations and a couple of new killers written by Tero and Mikko. The music was aggressive thrash metal with many elements played in our, not so typical way. In December 2005 we did record three-song demo, which we have never released. You can hear some of these songs on the music-section.
In February 2006 we finally got the bass player, Harri Leinonen, and the band sound became heavier than ever! At the same time we also had a change in singer section for logistical reasons. Jani Niskanen replaced Timos heavy vocals, on his heart-stopping screaming, which was exactly, what we had been looking for. New guys rehearsed quickly our songs and we immediately started to make more 'heavy metal thrashing'-hits. In summer 2006 we decided to record four songs as a demo. The songs were Follow me, Devoured by emptiness, Reprisoul and Burying the seeds of truth (if you haven't noticed, you can download some of these songs from music-section for free). The style of our music on these tracks is some kind of thrash/death metal with progressive elements. The idea of this demo is to get as many gigs as possible, and of course to get some name in peoples minds. Today (January 2007) Skirmish rehearses new songs like maniacs with new drummer Tommi Palo and will do some ass kicking live shows! New material will be released too, when the time is right. Stay in tune
