Biography
Lie in Ruins was initially formed in 1993. Both of the guys shared a common interest in Death Metal bands from that era, especially the swedish ones like Entombed, Dismember and Grave.
Years passed on and Lie in Ruins was put in the background for several years, until in 2002, time was ready for rehearsals and composing new material.
In 2005 the demo entitled 'Monuments' was finally released.
Roni Ärling came along after the first demo, sharing guitar duties with Tuomas K. The song "Skinstripper" from the "Monuments" demo was released on a Finnish compilation entitled "Demonstration of Penetration" in 2006.
The second demo "Statues" was recorded in November 2006 in two days. It delivers five songs featuring an intro in the style of the old continent. It is a proof of the current state of Lie in Ruins and offers slightly different material compared to the first recording.
Next step was to do gigs and with this line-up it was impossible so we recruited Kaitsu K. to play drums. First ever gig happened in On the Rocks club in Helsinki. On bass we had our friend Jussi V of Supreme Court Fame.
