The history of Kameleontti starts at 2001 when Samuli, Riku, Ville and Valtteri "Walchu" Numminen decided to establish a band together. Many things was little complicated at first, because Walchu was a new guy in the ring. Other three members have known each others for a long time. However, one thing was clear right at the beginning – Kameleontti is going to be a metal-band. Kameleontti’s first release was Luojan Kiitos (2002). Luojan Kiitos included three songs and there was only about few hundred copies of that, because band was quite unknown. Biography
The history of Kameleontti starts at 2001 when Samuli, Riku, Ville and Valtteri "Walchu" Numminen decided to establish a band together. Many things was little complicated at first, because Walchu was a new guy in the ring. Other three members have known each others for a long time. However, one thing was clear right at the beginning – Kameleontti is going to be a metal-band.
Kameleontti’s first release was Luojan Kiitos (2002). Luojan Kiitos included three songs and there was only about few hundred copies of that, because band was quite unknown. Quite soon after that Kameleontti suffered a huge setback when Walchu decided to leave the band.
However, Kameleontti decided to make a new release called Kaiken Jälkeen. There was no drummer in the band but their friend Simo "Skenis" Stenman promised to play the drums in the studio. So, Kameleontti’s second release Kaiken Jälkeen published in the beginning of 2003.
Finally in the spring 2004 Kameleontti got a drummer when Heikki Oinonen enters into the band. Band was taking easy at the start, but soon they started to plan a new release. That project realized in March 2007 and it’s called Vähitellen Vaikenee. The songs and the sound were little bit heavier than in the second release, because Kameleontti spend more time in the studio. The third release got pretty good response and guys were on fire.
Kameleontti started to write new songs right away and they got new material pretty soon. They started to make their fourth release Sarkaimet in summer 2007. Sarkaimet contains 5 songs unlike the earlier releases which include only 3 songs both. Sarkaimet was released in December 2007, so they released two CD´s in one year.
Even before Kameleontti released Sarkaimet they had decided that the next release would be an album, which includes at least 10 songs. They started that project right away after Sarkaimet and they got the new material quite soon. Kameleontti started the recording process in December 2008 and the recording continued during the spring and summer.
The process was quite difficult because making album was completely different thing that making those EP`s. Guys have decided that they want a real publisher and distributor for the album. They decided to establish a new company called Rosteri Records which published the album. Kameleontti also got the distributor and finally released their first full-lenght album Tärkein Vähemmistö in November 2009.
