Biography
Some kind of history/summary of the past years -> today.
It all started way, way back, years ago -something like 1996-, when H.Cane, Masa, Mike and J.Fire(ex gtr player) put our heads together in a heavy rock band called Chasm (the basis of GRIN was born). After several demos and gigs J.Fire decided to put up his own band called Wave and left Chasm. A new gtr. dude, Jammyman was found and band called Sweet Nadir was alive. Again, after few demos and gigs Jammy decided to put up his own group called End Of You (www.endofyou.net) and left Sweet Nadir.
In the mean time… in Helsinki there is a band called United Underworld (www.unitedunderworld.net) and H.Cane saw one of them shows and was very exited about their another singer Mäihä and asked him to join to one of his project bands, (somekind of industrial metal, called Side Chain) but the time wasn't right to that…yet…
So, things leaded to another and H.Cane joined United Underworld 2003, so there was Sweet Nadir and U.U. About year or so Mäihä had enough of U.U. that was around 2004-2005. H. Cane still continued in U.U. until end of 2006, when it was time focus on Sweet Nadir. After Jammyman left Sweet Nadir they continued as a trio for awhile, and then it happened: Mäihä joined S.N. propably summer 2006. Again, bands name had to be changed. There were several suggestions to that what the band would be called. They wanted it to fit to their music/feeling and the atmosphere surrounding them, which is sometimes hilarious, but usually it..s just fun :) Something like: snout, Super snout, facula and some others came out, but everyone was quite satisfied with GRIN so that's what it should be. Nowadays Grin (–even there's all the (young) dudes from S.N.-) is doing rock/punk/speed/trash/metal music. Thanks to that goes to all the ex-members and ex-bands and their influences. The whole band thinks they're doing that thing that they should have been doing for years, and years ago. Now everything seems and feels good and -of course- the rest is history, which is still unwritten….So you..d better stay tuned ..cause here we come…
