Biography

Dirge Eternal was formed in 2008, as a result of a desire to create something different. Finnish metal scene seemed to overflow with new-wave trash metal bands etc.

J. Perta's life-long passion for horror stories and melodic, variable music drove him to seek other guys sharing the similar passion, or at least passion to create something new. H. Asikainen was found through few turns, and he seemed perfect to fill the line-up. Through some announcements in the internet, other members were discovered, and soon first ideas were born. Within The Dark, a slightly progressive, yet catchy song about Silent Hill's somewhat bizarre town was the first whole song the band made, followed by Devil's Night and Looking Over. Soon the band started to feel, that the sound needed a second guitarist, and V. Havu joined the band. More ideas came along with a new member.

Now the band is as strong as ever, writing new songs. Recording for a first promotional CD have begun, and everything is going, as planned.
