DEATHLIKE SILENCE: Second Album Recording Session!

Deathlike Silence is the group that brought to our ears a new sound of metal: gravedigger metal, as the involved musicians prefer to call it. With a dark atmosphere, stunning female vocals and at the same time catchy and sinister melodies, the band made a name for itself in 2007, due to the excellent debut album Vigor Mortis. Moreover, the song Six Feet Under The Ground reached the status of hit in Finland last year. 2008 means work for the second album. The recording sessions have started on the 13th of June in Helsinki, at the Soundtrack studio. The day was picked carefully, the band says, "in hopes of gaining the right amount of sinister atmosphere in the studio amidst the light of summertime". The material has no name yet and no further information has been disclosed.

Biography

The gravedigger group Deathlike Silence was founded in 2003 and it plays a dark coloured, melodic, atmospheric metal, spiced with strong horror-romance elements, and performed with the dignity of a gravedigger. In short: Gravedigger metal. The group has built a strong image with lyrics, dressing, stage properties and logos etc. They have even got their own hearse for carrying their instruments.

The band has also gotten attention due to their skills: A lead singer with a strong voice (Ms. Maya), lead guitar virtuoso (Mr. Cerberos) and of course convincing live performances. The talented new keyboard player (Ms Erna) is also know from the ranks of Lordi during the years 97-05. Two sold out pressings have been made of their 2005 self released promo-CD before the debut album. The band comes from the Turku area in Finland.
